Personality~
Miguel is a curious, playful adult. With his fun-loving attitude, he could easily be mistaken as a child if you only heard about how he acted. His maturity levels may not exactly be soaring, but Miguel is a little social butterfly. He's friendly to almost everyone he meets, making him great with children and animals as well as fully grown adults. Though he's usually fun and teasing, he can also be very serious about the things he believes in.
Miguel is very adventurous. A bit dimwitted at times, and his plans are often fantasy oriented. He likes to see the world as a better place than it is, and loves doing things that people would think is impossible. Miguel is a born entertainer. He lives to please an audience and will drastically risk things to give a good show.
Hope is always strongly shown in Miguel. His optimistic views on everything make him a fairly pleasant person to be around. However, he is very opinionated. Those who's views conflict with his own may bhave a harder time getting along with Miguel. These strong qualities make him a very good conman.
For a man, Miguel is also fairly sensitive. He spends some of his time playing his small mandolin. He can always appreciate the beauty of the things around him. He often seems like he would be a horrible conman, but is actually very good. His poker face is one of the best in the business, and he often only cons people that he thinks deserve it because of his nature.
History ~
Miguel's birth isn't an exciting one. He was born to two homeless people, both unknown to him, on a stormy night. They had no money to take care of the child, so they left the child, wrapped in napkins from a fast food place downt the street, to die in the cold. Luckily for him, his pitiful screams attracted the attention of an older woman in her sixties as she was returning from the store with her husband.
The two amazingly kind elders took the baby in without question and named him Miguel. Miguel grew up as a bright, curious young child. He would always ask his adoptive mother what things were, often times to the point to where she would get lightly annoyed and not answer him. At the age of nine, his father become very ill with a cancer. After a year of fighting it off, the man died. Miguel was stricken with grief, but not close to how badly his mother took it. She went into a mental state of confusion and depression, making herself think that he was off in a war again. Less than a year later she had a heart attack over his grave.
Miguel had to return to the streets, only nine years old. A conman in his twenties took pity on the child. He asked Miguel if he wanted to learn how to get some money. Miguel, young and foolish, agreed. The man gave Miguel directions that were simple enough. He was to go sit at a gas station and look pitiful. The man came up to him, making sure quite a few people were in earshot and asked him what was wrong. Miguel followed the orders perfectly. He said he was waiting for his mother to make dinner. The man asked where his mother was. Miguel replied, very seriously, in Heaven. Needless to say, many of the people at the gas station gave Miguel money to buy something to eat. The con was a success.
It wasn't long before Miguel started to become a better and better con artist. He moved from child's sympathy to selling fake things, and he was great. His kind personna made it hard for people to believe they were being cheated. But one day, another man was trying to steal his business. Miguel and the man, named Tulio, quickly clicked. Tulio had the brains and Miguel had the charisma. It was a match made in conman heaven. They even started gambling on the streets. Years later, playing with loaded dice, Miguel and Tulio won a treasure map. Tulio had waved it off and Miguel had to escape to Diznae to escape the police in Spain that were becoming quite knowing of Miguel. Miguel still has the map and plans to find El Dorado one day.
